Hi There,

I just joined the list. It's hard to find region-specific communities on lj, so I was glad to find this one. I don't live in the SF Bay Area any more, but I lived there for 15 years and had my horse TJ (points to icon) there for about 4 years.

We now live in Portland, OR, which is fabulous, by the way. I take Dressage lessons on TJ, and have been riding for about 10 years. TJ has been a Dressage horse, a jumper, a hunter, an eventer, a Parelli demo horse, and has worked cows on a ranch - so needless to say, he's had a pretty well rounded life. We've been together for 7 years now, and I'm really enjoying having such an athletic, well-rounded, level-headed guy to ride.

I'm currently living in an apartment in a renovated barn, and have my horse here on site with me - which is so great. I just walk out the door and there he is... It's a full care facility, so I get to enjoy spending time with him without having to work my bum off in the process.

I hope to get to know some folks on the list here soon.

I'm surprised there aren't more members too! I just got into lj in the past week or so, but I too have a arab. He's 15.2 and used to do endurance in his younger days. He's 20 now (but thinks he's about 4) and I love him to bits. What kind of riding does everyone do?

I made this livejournal because I realised I had some quesitons and thoughts about horses, horse care, and equine events that were actually pretty region-specific. I htought others might feel the same way, so now we have a place to congregate. Please feel free to promote and x-post.
